I have a table which has several field headings.

One of the fields is named 'Product'. I have run a query and created a report to display all the data (grouped) for the 'Product'types.

What I need is a total of the number of Products, as opposed to having a complete list.

ie.

Software - 12
Printer - 23
Email - 15

as opposed to displaying

software
software
software
software.... 12 times in a row

do i make sense?

thanks

select product, Count(product) from table group by product

in the QBE grid add your table
add product to the grid twice
click on view-totals
change the 2nd product total from groupby to count
run the query

Easy when you know how, many thanks!
