I want to add the monthly sales values for 550 customers, and achieve a Year to Date figure on the right hand side of the table, and a monthly customer total (a) at the bottom of the month column (b) possibly that same total replicated at the bottom of each page. This last request is in the category of "it would be nice, but if it takes the understanding of Access outside my very limited basic knowledge, forget it."
Awaiting some kind souls' help and assistance.

You may find help in article Q132017 in the MS knowledgebase. I just used this to add subtotals on each page and then a grand total at the end. You may be able to modify this to help.

Allan,

In most situations you can set up a crosstab query to get your row totals. Since you can do section and report totals from the report itself, this normally provides what you have requested. The "trick" is to be able to join the crosstab query with a select query so that the row totals are aligned with the select query appropiatly.

If your original data is set up according to the usual database normalization (level 3 or better), this is usually pretty easy, and it only requires two (additional) queries.
