Hi,
Is there any way to display a formula on a report before it is evaluated, for example I have this report that has formula that calculates the sum in the details fields as sum = sum + detailvalue. This is placed in the page footer section. I heed this formula to display at the top of the report preferably at the page header or the report header. Since the formula has not been evaluated in these areas, at the time of display it has no value.
Is this possible in the first place.
Thanks in advance

Karim

Karim,

Sounds like you are using a variable. In that case (as well as in the case of Running Totals) I'm afraid the answer is 'No'.

You could use a subreport to compute the same result at the top of the report.

Is there a reason why you can't use a regular sum formula to achieve the same result? Perhaps if you explain what exactly you are summing we can suggest a concrete solution using a simple total.

See I need to do this daily report for airlines and since this is a daily report it should show the cumilative sales of the airline tickets up to that date as a balance brought forward. This I would like at the top of the report but I can only use the variable at the bottom after I accumilate the values in the details field into a variable.

Incedently Crystal reports has no facility for page totals

Sounds like you would need to use a subreport at the top of the report. Note: you could also use a more complex SQL or a VIEW to achieve the same thing.
