Hi, Good Morning, is there a way i can get a total of my group? i think i have tried all options, but nothing seems to be working. ie, i have grouped by callid, i want the total on changed callid, not on the # of ids' in the group. Iam able to get the total on the # of ids, but not on the group. example

callidgroup 123451
123451
123451 = 2
callidgroup 099666
099666 = 1
callidgrouo 843843
843843 = 1
iam able to get a total of 4, but what i actually need is a total of 3(on change group) seems pretty simple. it does'nt seem to be working out.

Thank you again for any help you can offer.
Well appreciated.

Try DistinctCount.

You should give your Crystal version. But I think all versions have DistinctCount.

There are also running totals, that can only be shown in the footer but allow various clever combinations.

Sorry, you did give your version in the header.

Madawc, i have tried distinct count and that gives me individuals counts. in the ex above the results would be
1
1
1
this is good, but i also need at the end of the report:
total 3
I will search up running totals.

Thank You Again For Your Quick Respond!

When you insert the distinct count, you can choose whether it should be at the group level or at the grand total level. You can insert twice to get the distinct count in both places.

Then insert a grand total with distinct count

it appears that iam unable to do a distinct count on the same field twice. I have tried it for grand total and summary but the ok button is greyed out.

Many Thanks,
nic

When you right click on the field->insert summary->you can select distinctcount of your field, and at the bottom you have options to check insert summary for all groups and insert grand total. Check both of them.
