The Hard drive in one of my users Toshiba Satellite 320CDS quit working so I ordered a new one.  The original drive was the stock 4.0Gb drive, the replacement is a 6.0Gb drive the laptop does not seen to acknowledge the new drive. I have ran tsetup to access the system bios settings and it says that there is no hard drive installed.  I am running bios v 8.0.  I have tried a 4.0Gb drive from another 320 in it and it works fine.  I have tried the 6.0Gb hard drive in another 320CDS and it doesn't work there either.  Toshibas website seems to be very unhelpful with this problem.  Is there a problem with Toshiba 320CDS and 6.0Gb hard drives or am I doing something wrong?

Is it possible that the hard drive is DOA? Going from 4 to 6GIG shouldn't require any special BIOS change but you should check for an updated one to be safe.

Yes it seems quite possible that it was a corpse from the go start.&nbsp;&nbsp;I was hoping this wasn't the case, as it takes quite some time getting hardware shipped up here.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;if I do not recieve any insight indicating otherwise I will have to return the drive, with hopes that the replacement will correct my problem.<br>&nbsp;
