I just bought a used dk16e and I have a few questions and would really appreciate if anyone can help me out.

1- I would like to buy a caller id card (tciu2a) where is the best and cheapest place to buy it?

2- Where can I get the manuals for this system?

3- When I lift the handset it asks me dial ext or access code what do I do to be able to use an outside line? also is there anyway to reset the system like when it was manufactured default settings?

My email address is gutmcha(at)gmail.com
thank you everyone

You will want to get the manual for the Strata DK 40, it is closer to the 16e than the 16 is as far as programming goes and you wil probably not be able to find a 16e manual. The manual will have instructions for initializing the system and bringing it back to default. The TCIU cards are very hard to come by used. You might want to contact a local Toshiba dealer and see if they can still get you a new one, other than that, you could try e-bay. The manual for the 40 is available at

I already have the manual in pdf format and I dont know how to program that when I lift the handset it should go to the first available line.

also The line doesnt give me a dialtone I dont know why that is, I did a system initialization and I checked to see if the processor is good and it said ok, I can call between extensions but I cant get a dialtone. Do the swithes on the card where the line goes in have to be certain way?

Thanks

Your local toshiba dealer can help you configure the system and provide some basic training. It is well worth the investment for someone who knows what they are doing.

Ditto what DHCINC said. Find a local certified Toshiba tech to come in, get you set up right, and do some basic training. If you have never programmed Toshiba before, it can be a beast to figure out.

try dialing 9
or also 301 or #301 may be the access code for line 1, it has been a while. Your manual probably has the codes in program 05 in the manual. Going from memory here.
