Hi, we've got a server that's showing some strange stuff in topas and ps aux.

In topas, in the PgSp column it's showing for some processes really big numbers, things like 9465839484928.0 or 1207959552.0 but it's not happening for all processes, just for some.

In ps aux, it shows something similar in %MEM, SZ and RSS. Some examples:
Code:
USER PID %CPU %MEM SZ RSS TTY STAT STIME TIME COMMAND
root 20458 2.4 295842453.0 6976 16887811413472 - A 16:29:28 100:04 korcoll
oracle 46282 0.0 30192181960.0 27368 1723484476552876 - A 16:52:06 2:00 /opt/u01/app/ora

Does anybody knows why can this happen?

Thanks

My guess would be that some application is mucking about with /dev/kmem (which it shouldn't), and that the app's idea of the layout of kmem doesn't match that of the running system (which is why it shouldn't).

If this just started showing up, have there been any recent application installs or operating system patches?

Well, I've just discovered this, but I don't how much time it's been doing it.
I saw this before going from 5.3ML04 (with some apars) to 5.3TL05. I thought that perhaps the reboot it just needed a reboot, so I've gone thru the upgrade and done a reboot, but it still shows this.

In theory I should be the only to install apps or OS patches, but I've seen it's not like this, and since I'm in a client I cannot just change root password and restrict permissions.
