top command hangs on solaris 8

every other command works fine, but top command hangs and when i press ctrl c i get the head output display but nothing else. Any ideas or has anyone ever seen this.

Do you have the 32/64 version of top ?
You can download the package from sunfreeware.com

I haven't had a problem with top in Solaris 8. Is there a chance that it could be some kind of emulator (TERM) problem? Have you had any luck with lfoata's suggestion?

I have the same problem periodically with Solaris 8. I never figured it out....so I switched to "prstat". ;-)
