Top 3 Salesmen by total Sales

This is probably simple for everyone, but how do I show a list of the top 3 of a summary total? I would need to total a list of sales the salesmen had made through out the year, and then sort it by that total, and then limit it to only 3 of the salesmen. Example would be:

Bob $10,453,234
Mary $5,324,239
Steve $4,342,978
