Lets start with AutoCAD version and O/S...
How about a detailed description of what is going on and what happened before this problem existed...

I am running Autocad 2000. I started a file from scratch and in the tools - option - selected tab did appear and then when I clicked on the noun/verb check box I then could select element in my other files.
Problem is fixed. Thanks for your respones.
