Hi,
i need a tool to view system information like top.
I have seen there's a beta version of top for solaris but i'd like to know if there's a solaris "native" tool for system information.
I also need a tool for managing users. I mean settting password length, expiration date and so on...
I tried with admintool but when i select a user and go to menu edit-modify nothing happens, no new window is opened.
Can you help me find these tools? Possibly sun certified, i need to use them on production systems.
Thanks
Tarek

prstat is the Solaris 7+ native equivalent of top. There's a GUI version but the name slips my mind...

usermod is the command line tool for modifying users; is that good enough for you?

Annihilannic.

prstat seems ok, but i don't see cpu and memory.
I have to merge info of prstat and vmstat.
And what about disks? To see how much are used?
And network traffic?
For ex on aix topas satisfies monitors all these things.

Top also comes included with Solaris 8, but I can't recall whether it's installed by default or whether you have to pkgadd it. Agree with Annihilanic about the setoolkit - also available from
