Just had a a Search Assistant box start showing up on my toolbar. Can right click and unclick it to temporarily turn it off but it come right back on startup. Anyone know what the heck is going on? I have run Nortons Antivirus 2004 several times but can't seem to get rid of it.
Any help is greatly appreciated
Ron

Spike66, Sounds like some spyware got installed on your PC like it happens so many times over and over again. One utility I've used "use to be" ad-aware. Now I use SpySweeper to remove all those pesky spywares. Click to and then click "Downloads" on the top of the page. Then click to SpySweeper and download the "Try It" version first. Its FREE and it will remove all the nasty stuff very easily for you. The free version is good for one update. (so enjoy)
Its my experience that SpySweeper will find and remove everything that Ad-aware doesn't, its why I switched to
Hope this helps as it should.

The "Search Assistant" bar is a malware. Type the command in RUN box.

Regsvr32 /u C:\Windows\System32\omniband.dll

Then, rename C:\Windows\System32\omniband.dll to old omniband.dll and restart Windows.
