Does anyone know where I can get my hands on any tutorials regarding developing tool-tips for mouseover events?

Strangely, I haven't been able to find a good one...

Try using alt attributes for images and title attributes for spans, divs, and other page elements.

for lots of cool DHTML scripts. Here is one that makes use of custom DHTML tooltips. If you don't like this one, there are a few others on there that are easily configured. Just do a search for "tooltips".
