I Passed both in less then 10 mins, even the proctor lady was impressed by how fast I completed both test and only missed 2 questions (stupid mistakes by reading too fast).

Advice, if you can pass the online practice exams with 75% you can pass the real test. also, know your IRQs. I encounted 3 IRC Questions out of 20 questions. If you miss those, it could be pass or fail for you. I did a little study but I had over 6 years of tech experience so that helped a lot. Experience is the Key so PEOPLE Start taking your computers apart and play around with it!!!!

Well good luck to all of you, I'll be waiting for my A+ Certified ID. HEHEHE

Nice that you got 3 IRQ questions. I didn't get any. No DMA, IRQ or I/O questions. No TCP/IP questions either. I did get a configuration question for IPX/SPX though (cripes!). I thought I was gonna ace the CORE, instead I got 786 (or something like that). A pass but it pissed me off.

For the OS exam, I got 5 or 6 WinNT questions (never used WinNT) and a bunch of Win95 questions (mostly upgrading-type questions). Fortunately I surprised myself with a 900 score on that one.

One CORE question still bugs me though. It asked something like this:

Computer freezes at the screen where the memory count begins. User can't access the CMOS. No beeps from the computer either. What would you bring with you to fix this computer:

A) CPU
B) Video Card
C) RAM
D) Floppy Drive

My first instinct is RAM but I would have thought there would be some beeping from the comp if the RAM was bad. Maybe a video card lockup, but wouldn't that make the screen go blank? Possibly the CPU is overheating and locking up. Frankly, I'd bring A, B and C!

Insight anyone? I don't remember what my answer was.

Accessdabbler,
You're right, it's Ram. Think about it, if it's video card the screen woould be blank, no status at all on the monitor, if it was the cpu, again, the screen would also be blank, and the floppy drive error doesn't prevent you from getting into the CMOS. Remember a PC require 3 things to boot, cpu, ram and video (it'll boot without video, you just wont be able to see a thing).

Unless of course it was a brand new pc - Settings were for a PCI Video card - and it came/got installed with a AGP one.

Thanx RCHO that helps me cuz I know I can get a 75 on the practice so this will help me build my confedence for the real test. I'm stating a new job @ Dell about the mid of next month and they do require that you get your A+ at least 3 months after working there. I told them I can do it in one. The cool thing is they R one of those companys that pay for the first time pass or fail. Second fail its on on you but there will not be a first fail when I walk out of the testing center.
