After import a text file with 475 fields into SQL server 7.0, I got error message " Too many columns defined in the rowset", when I try to open the table. There is a Help button on this message. It said that ODBC Error: <Os>. An ODBC error has been generated. You might have deleted a record that has a foreign key value related to it, or you might have violated a check constraint.
I don't know why this happened. I didn't set any foreign key or check constraint.
Please help !
Thanks in advance!
George

GC,
SQL Server 7 allows 1024 fields per table but when you have more than 255 fields and try to visualize all records selecting all fields you get that error message. Use a "SELECT * ..." query in Query Analyzer instead.
Good luck.
