Toner cartridges

The toner cartridge for my HP 4L has HP P/N 92274A. Will the FX2 for Canon copiers be an exact replacement?
Also what is the typical shelf life of a manufactured cartridge?

The FX2 will not work, same engine, but the plastic shells are different. The shelf life depends on the coponetws used. Usaully they should work for two to three years.
