Tomcat 4.1.24 doesnot Start up

hi
well i too have the same problem installing Tomcat..
i did uninstalling it twice & then reinstalling over my win2000 server
i have jdk 1.3..i have not set CATALINA_HOME.
Also when i type

http://localhost:8080

and press enter
IIS Documentation opens up.

i have visited the Jakarta site for Tomcat And have read and done all the steps neccessary to install Tomcat 4.1.24 given on the Website which includes editing server.xml & web.xml files ,still my Tomcat dosenot start, also i have changed the port from 8080 to say 8099,but the Tomcat doesnot start up.

You say you have NOT set CATALINA_HOME. Why? You need CATALINA_HOME set correctly to run tomcat.
