I have a merlin magix release 4.0 v7.0 . I have set facility restriction level to 2 and have set restriction level to toll restrict and can still dial a toll call by simply not dialing 1 ahead of area code. how can I restrict this? I have set frl to 1 and can not dial out other than intercom.

Sounds to me like your provider does not require a 1 for LD calls. That's weird.

I think I would start with them.

You could probably jump through hoops and do a lot of programming on the Legend, but considering I think it's a vendor issue, I would at least find out if they are allowing TOLL Calls without the 1.

Also, you may want to print your ARS and see if one of your tables is sending the 1 for you. (I doubt it, but I would check anyway.)

THANKS, THAT IS WHAT I THOUGHT. WE ARE NOT SENDING THE ONE. THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY DO NOT REQUIRE THE ONE AND THAT I SHOULD BE ABLE TO SET UP THE SWITCH TO REQUIRE THE ONE FOR A TEN DIGIT NUMBER AND THEN TO DIS-ALLOW NUMBERS STARTING WITH ONE. I COULD NOT SEE HOW TO DO THIS ON OUR SWITCH.

Please post the ARS tables as Jack "merlinman" Morgan has suggested.

Also be sure to mention any unusual calling rules that you might know of. For example, are you supposed to dial a "1" or "1 plus the local area code" even though you're making a call to a pizza joint just down the street?

I'm wondering if you have a PRI, and that the first route choice for all calls (including local) are sent over this service. If that's true, what you describe will happen if:

1. Special Service Table entry #5 is defined as a National number AND has "1" defined as the Digits to Delete and...

2. Table #26, a.k.a. the Default Local Output Table has the PRI pool as the first choice for outbound calls AND has 1nxx in the Other Digits field (where nxx is your local area code).

Please post back and we will help you figure this out.

I DO HAVE A PRI T-1 LINE AS OR ONLY PHONE CONNECTION. I DON'T KNOW OF ANY SPECIAL TABLES THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN PROGRAMMED AT TIME OF INSTALL BY INSTALLER. HOW CAN I CHECK THIS OUT? CAN I COPY SOME TABLES AND E-MAIL TO YOU TO LOOK AT OR YOU TELL ME WHAT TABLES TO INSPECT? I AM NOT SURE HOW TO ACCESS THESE SPECIAL TABLES YOU ARE SPEAKING OF.
