Toll free numbers

How can I get all of my toll free numbers forwarded to our IP Office 412 from AT & T so we can route them internaly. At the moment, we need to put a request in to telco to change the local to toll free map on their system. Telco sugested they can forward it to our first or main DID number but we are already using it. I guess I need some education regarding this matter. Thanks for your help in advance. George
 
Toll free numbers come into your pbx via a secondary line. If you have unused DIDs then you can have them patch the 800 number to an unused DID then program the IPO from there.
 
Sure, but I believe there is a better way to this and waste 40 did numbers just to get them to our PRI.
 
Do the 800's all go to the same destination on the IPO or do they go to different destinations?
 
At the moment they are mapped all over the place and it is a big pain to change them as I need to submit the request to telco office.
 
Well if the routing for the destination of each number is different then you must bring it in on a unique DID. So you have 40 toll free numbers? Buy more DIDs. They are cheap.

If they are going to be routed to the same destination on the system, you can use one single DID for all of them. If they are going to different destinations, or potentially in the future want to split them up to varying destinations, they will need a DID for each one.
 
Why can't you just have the DNIS digits assigned to whatever numbers you would like by the telco and then route the call based on the DNIS digits when it comes down the trunk and hits the pbx? All of our 800 numbers have different DNIS digits so we can route them the same or different depending on our need. I think they would look just like a DID#.
