Does any one have a recommended list of settings to protect against toll fraud? I've been in the business for years, but never had a customer hacked until today. Someone dialed into the system remotely and made a ton of calls to the middle east.

They have a MICS 6.0, PRI and Call Pilot 100. They use external transfer to local numbers on their CCR tree and also message notification.

Nortel's info on this seems scattered and disjointed. I would greatly appreciate any recommendations.

Thanks

Here is another thing you probably want to do..You want to disable in the mailbox the outdial feature, also you want to check in the general mailbox if they turned on option 7 for outdialing..

I have ran into this in multiple locations and noticed that all the sites I have ever seen had this problem..

I saw there was another post on getting hacked and I got some good info out of this thread, so I am posting to get it back to the top.

By the way I have a friend who had a customer get hacked for $7K over a weekend and the long distance carrier is sticking it to them.

The hackers are not coming in through the RAD. Wouldn't hurt to make ALL RADS operator assisted though. They are coming in through the voice mail system. See my other post reguarding tool call fraud.

How do I edit My Post??
Don't play with your Routing, Access Codes, Dial Out, Line or Set Filters! The fix IS NOT in the phone system programming! The fix is in your voice mail system Programming! Archie is on the right track.I can't say much more. We don't know who else is listening. Check my response to the other Toll Call Fraud post.
