Does anyone know how in access to allow one form to be open at all times, while other forms can be opened in front of it.

Situation: I have a main form from which all of my functionality is displayed. I have a couple of other forms that I call during specific events, which are smaller than my main form. When I call these new forms, Access automatically opens these new forms in a maximized format like the main form. Then, when I resize the new form, it also resizes the main form. This is what I want to avoid.

I would like the new forms to be opened in their current state while keeping the main form open in the background. I currently have the main form set to modal, but that doesn't seems to help.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Well Miners74, i suppose that you want your Main form to be maximized all the time, and the other forms to be appeared over the main.

First open your "client" forms in design view and with mouse. stretch or shrink them as you want.
Set these Properties as follow:

AutoResize No --- AutoCenter Yes
Popup Yes --- Modal Yes

Save the forms.
Press F5 to view and save again.

Try your project.

If you have problems, set for the Main Form on
Activate Event
docmd.maximize

Good Luck

Thanks for the response. That is exactly what I was needing to do.
