I want to make 2 TOCs and 1 Index.
I did this a few years ago but i have forgot how to go about doing it. I know how to make the TOCs by using the Paragraph styles through out my chapters of my book but how can i get it to put dots between the chapter name and the page number?
Example:

Chapter 1 .................. 5-10
Chapter 2 .................. 11-20
etc...

Thanks for your help

And now part two is confounding me. I know where to find to create the Index, (under window | type&tables) but when i click the generate index it does nothing... it looks through all my documents but it doesnt pull up anything.

What am i doing wrong?

I have read through the help page but it doesnt seem to tell me anything short of telling me i have to create each topic, but i cant do that manually.. that would take me forever.

As you go through your manuscript, highlight the words or phrases that you want to appear in the index. Usually the author has circled those words on lasers of the manuscript. When the word is highlighted, then go to type & tables/index, and add it as a topic. Keep adding the topics and it will automatically generate the appropriate page numbers. When you've finished, then hit generate index. It will give you a cursor to place the text, so add some pages at the end of the book, and place it there. Hope this helps.

Thanks a bunch i will attempt this after the guide is finished... I remember now, i knew it was something simple... my brain is just mush from doing this

thanks again

Does anyone have an answer for my first question? How to get the filler periods in between the Chapter name and the page number?

Edit the TOC Entry paragraph style. Via the Tab Ruler, create a tab (right align tab as displayed below) and assign a "." in the Leaders box.
Chapter 1 .......... 5
Chapter 2 .......... 8
