Hi,
I have to publish reports developed with Crystal Reports 8.5, on our company's web site. The web site is on a third party hosted web server, so we are not allowed to install crystal enterprise on the web server.
I have installed crystal reports v8.5 and crystal enterprise v8.0 (standard) on my development machine. Is it possible to launch eportfolio (crystal Enterprise) present in my development machine through the web site ie is it possible to connect to Crystal Enterprise on my computer through the third party hosted web server through a link.
Would greatly appreciate if somebody can throw some light on this issue.
Thanks...Viji.

I don't see why this wouldn't work, if it's just a link on a page.

But here is a question for you.....I am running basically the same setup, however, as you know with eportfolio the users have to login, then they navigate to the report they want. Well, I have reports that all users do not need access to. How are you going to overcome this obstacle?

Thank you, mtownbound. I was able to view my reports in eportfolio through the link on our website. that was cool.
Regarding your question : You should change some code in the available.csp file found in Seagate Software/Web Contents/enterprise/ePortfolio/en/available.csp
It takes a parameter when you click the eportfolio after activating the launchpad. It takes you to
So in available.csp, there is a variable pageView which can be set to guest or subscription or personal. Based on this value , the if condition in javascript code in available.csp shows the folders. You have to change the folders that it can access in this if condition so that users can access specific folders for
which they have permission. It is easier said but surely involves some coding and understading the open source code that has come with the software. That will be my next step too. All the best.
