LOL. Da Range.

I am not anywhere near MN (am in WA), and have never lived elsewhere, but I know what Da Range is, even though I have never heard it refered to as "Da Range" before.

Like the Mesabe (sp?) Iron Range. North of Duluth by highway, North of Proctor by rail, around Hibbing & Virginia MN.

Hi,
You Betcha'. It is
usually called 'The Iron Range', which many of us folks shortened to the Minnesota-ese 'Da Range'.

Simalarly, the North East section of Minneapolis is referred to as 'NordEast'..

i understand that in the lanes closed to traffic, there were a number of construction vehicles, some loaded with "hundreds of tons" of paving or road resurfacing material. if that is the case, one wonders if the bridge was either not designed for that much weight, or if it was in such a bad state of structural integrity that the load-bearing structures just gave way ... we have been praying for peace & grace for the folks involved in this tragedy; i hope its not a harbinger of things to come as so many of these types of bridges continue to age...

Yes... The Mesabi range, or the Iron Range.

Actually, all of the iron mined in the United States comes from "Da range".

For those of you who are curious, Mesabi is Ojibwe indian for "Sleeping Giant".

Mesabi rhymes with that asian radish, Wasabi.
