Hi,
I have users set up with multiple email address username@123.com, username@234.com Etc. When an email is set internaly the To: adress will be To: username@123.com or username@234.com. When recieving email esternal to the Exchange server it come up To: username this is causing a few users problems with knowing who it was intended for. I could create a rule and havi it filed automaticly but I was wondering if anyone knew how to change the external to dissplay the same as the external. Thanks in advance.

That's because the server inserts the AD account name in place of the email address. I'm not aware of a way to change that.

I would think if their name is in the TO line, it was meant for them!

I see why this can be a concern. If I have two addresses on my account Steve@123.com and Steve@456.com, I might want to know which address it was sent to because I might only give my 456 address to clients and my 123 address to people in IT.

Right click on the name in Outlook. It will drop down and you can see which address it was sent to. This doesn't work for email that is internal to the Exchange Org. I tested it just now and found that when email is sent to steve@123.com or steve@456.com right clicking on them will both show steve@123.com if that is the default SMTP address.

When the email comes from an external domain right clicking on it will show the correct address.

You can also right click on an email in the Inbox and choose OPTIONS to see the header. The recipient email address will be listed in there if it came through SMTP.

It looks like I will give the user the option of either creating a rule so emails sent to specific addresses go to specific folders (I believe they already have this set up but for some reason do not like it) or to create seperate users for each address and connect her to those exchange boxes.

You could do the second option and then open the second mailbox in the same outlook profile. That way no emails would be missed because Outlook was closed.
