We have a single TN750C Announcement Card and it is full. We actually created a new announcement without checking the storage and figured out why we could only record 5 sec of announcement, which in turn then flaked out the card and is now reporting an error type 14 aux data 4, which indicates, "Error Type 14 This error is logged whenever the Announcement Checksum Test (#209) fails. The Aux Data indicates the identifying number of the first defective announcement found." We don't seem to have any issues ... except for the Alarm / Errors now and I am working with our service provider to resolve that.

Now to my point. Can we simply change the Bit Rate from 32 to 16 to get more recording time and/or if so, will that have any effect on the current announcements, corruption, quality ... presumed will see if noticable, etc.?

no because all were recorded at 32 bit, so delete them one by one and then rerecord at 16 bit is the only way I know of to do this.

Just add another TN750C. They're very cheap. You should also be backing up your announcement board to the removable media (flash card/MO Cartridge).

You will need to erase the board, change bit rates, re-record the announcements.
You will only get 255 seconds per board.

A great teacher, does not provide answers, but methods to teach others "How and where to find the answers"
