We have several TN750C announcement boards installed in our system, all work fine. Recently, an additional TN750C-board was installed, which seems to be configured well, but we can't record announcements on it.

The board appears in "list conf all", and we can assign new announcements to it. But when we try to record to announcements on that board using the FAC, we simply get a confirmation tone, instead of a dial tone (to signal press 1, 2 or 3 to record, listen or delete the announcement).

So, normally we dial <fac><annc#><1> to record. But with announcements on the new board, we dial <fac><annc#> and hear the confirmation tone (eg. as if we were configuring a call-forward).

The "old" boards are vintage 9, the new board is vintage 13. Could that be the problem?

A data-module is configured for all boards on port 1, so no difference there.

Rgds,
Dimitri

Did you set up an extension number for the announcement??

Mikey

What happens if you dial the extension of the ann? Do you get ringback? That can mean Que is set to yes.

The confirmation then means that call back is activated because the extension is busy.

Did you do "erase ann + location ?

This is what I can think of.

Two basic questions: What platform are you on and how many announcement boards do you have?
r can have 10 boards
si, csi are limited to 5

To set up an announcement, I add the announcement, assigning an extension to it.

When I dial the extension, I get a slow busy tone.

We have a Definity G3rV9, with a total of 5 announcement boards, 4 of which have always worked fine. The fifth was installed later, and shows mentioned problems (it's the 3rd board in the table below).

Whe I try to erase ("erase announcements <board#>"), I get "Announcement data is being modified; please try later"

Here's an overview of our configuration:

Try busy out the board, reset the board and then release the board.

You then shouldn't have problems erasing the ann's.

Otherwise throw it out of the window.

Thanx, Brandaris!
It was as simple as that!
I can now record and listen to announcements on that board!
