We have a TN568 card with the Olympus MOS362 640MB magneto-optical drive in it. We're on our 3rd 'refurbished' version of this drive, and it's gone dead on us now. They seem to last just slightly past the 90 day warranty period.

I was just wondering if it is possible to change the Olympus drive to a (brand new) Fujitsu drive of the same size (or possibly slightly larger), without the TN568 throwing alarms at us. My "guess" would be that a SCSI Fujitsu 640MB MO-drive would be OK to use, but I do not know if the TN568 links itself to the Olympus firmware or not. A Fujitsu 1.3GB would be even "nicer", but I don't know if a disk of that size would be supported by the (older) firmware either.

Thanks!

Avaya has a replacement drive for the TN2211 board in the Definity that is a Fujitsu MCE3130SS 1.3Gig. I replaced the TN568 AUDIX drive with this one and it works like a champ. The problem I had with the TN568 was it would eventually fail the nightly backup. Interesting that the reason for replacing the drive in the TN2211 is because of failing the nightly backup.

Thanks for the replies. supertech, we may just try out a Fujitsu drive.

And Serge, thanks for the link - I found that one the other day while Googling also. Unfortunately, those 3 little words on the right hand side of the screen are discouraging... "Out of Stock".
