Video-Conferencing using PolySpan VuStation 512 & TN556D card as ISDN-2 / BRI source ...

... Does anyone have any experiance of this ?

If you have been successful, how are you configuring the switch and which of the following are you using ?

(1) WCBRI stations only feeding MUX
(2) Data modules of type WCBRI feeding MUX
(3) WCBRI stations paired with Data modules to feed MUX.

More importantly, are there any tried and tested recommendations or "gotchas" ?

TIA

Giles.

We are using Polycom 512 using TN556D card in the Definity & the way I have programmed the BRI port is follows:
********************************************
STATION

Extension: 2997 BCC: 0
Type: WCBRI TN: 1
Port: 02A1002 Coverage Path 1: COR: 1
Name: VC TEST Coverage Path 2: COS: 1
Hunt-to Station:

Loss Group: 3
Data Module? y

BRI OPTIONS
XID? n Fixed TEI? n 1-Step Clearing? n
Country Protocol: etsi Endpt Init? n
*********************************************
Also the BRI extension connects in to the video-conferencing equipment & than I dial to outside world thru ISDN-PRI link connected to DS1 board..

Let me know if i was able to get your question correctly & answer you as per your expectation..

Regards,:)

Thanks, Definity ... Do you find that it is reliable ?

Also, how far away are the VuStation unit & IMUX ? Over 100 feet ?

Are you supplying any supplemental power to the line between the IMUX and VuStation ?

Beware of old software versions by the way ... Some are dodgy. Did you know that you can upgrade via call or IP ? This is useful.

I am now using WCBRI stations with data modules - Can you show me your data module connection please ? This is how we do it here -

Fastbusy,
I am using this from couple of months now & found this to be good, the IMux & Viewstation are located nearby the distance between the two is around 20 feet only, I am not supplying any other power to the line, Also check your Route pattern , My looks like following:(check for TSC)

Grp. FRL NPA Pfx Hop Toll No. Del Inserted IXC
No. Mrk Lmt List Digits Digits

The data station on the last page of station is defined as :

Could you also share what happens when you try to dial thru the equipment, does it dial & nothing happens or do you get error while dialing itself...

The Datamodule is physically connecting on the 1st & the 2nd pair of the cable, you can check the connections using an ISDN phone also(define port as 8510 to test)
:)
