Can anyone tell me how to get rid of the tmp files that Crystal is placing on the local hard-drive. I need to place the application on a server, and don't have permissions to allow the tmp file creation. Any help is appreciate.

Using CR v 10
App is in VB 6.0
Connection to SQL 2000 DB

TIA Wacki

Almost every application in Windows generates tmp files.

Have you tried installing it and seeing if it runs?

Yes, but the admin of the box doesn't want them put there. Can we force it to go to the app path, or something like that? It just can't be placed on the root.

Since I don't know the server type you're using, it's hard to state.

Try checking for the following on the server (and the owner of your server should know all of this, they should have already adjusted for it):

The TEMP and TMP user variables need to be set. The default shouldn't be the root anyway, so something is odd...aside from your sys admin needing training...

-k

The temp variables are set to C:\temp. But for some reason the files are still going to C:. The Box is an NT server running a citrix server for the distribution of the app.

This issue is fixed in the newest update files. The craxdrt.dll is version 10.0.5.800
