Had an interesting TMDI failure last night. Installed the latest DepList and loadware patches on a multiple cabinet CS1000E 7.5. After the call server INI after patches one of my 5 TMDI cards did not come back up. Card was disabled, DCH disabled, couldn't bring it up. There is a known issue fixed by MPLR31779, which the resolution is to out and rebuild the card and DCH; no luck. Ran an SLFT on the card and after testing returned a "SELFTESTS FAILED: EPROM TEST". Assuming now the card is toast and guessing that replacement is the only option?

Couldn't even enable the card with an FDL; kept throwing an MSDL error that the card wasn't enabled. Also got no XMI errors when pulling and reseating.

Anyhow, I did locate a spare card and it works. In retrospect, this is one of my original system TMDI cards; it's only been in service 12 years. Probably depreciated out by now. [surprise]

That Card is MD on the catalogue. I believe it's not compatible with the 7.5

You definitely got your money out of that card. 12 years is pretty impressive. I have had similar issues with the TMDI cards before too and the SLFT always fixed them. Guess yours crapped out completely.

I do the same, but some of our older TMDI cards had to be replaced when we went to 7.5. But as stated, your cards had a good run.

DOH!!!!! We had this SAME issue when we performed patching on our 7.5 system! We found that we had to perform a Sysload (not just INI) for them to work again. It is NOT in the special notes that you need to do this. Your TMDI cards should be fine. We had two that did not work and tried to replace them but the replacements did not work either. That is when I reviewed the PEP documentation.
Anyway, don't trash your TMDIs just yet!!

I am finding almost the same thing. We have CS1000E stand alone sites that we are converting to SMG1000E sites. I preconfigure all the T1/PRI circuits, MGW, and all the routing ahead of time. Go to the site, flash the MGC card and when it attaches to the Main site, the TMDI cards do not come up. Have to sysload the system for them to start working. Once we reset they come up fine and then work with no issues. It was a bugger figring this out as well. And the bad part is the Main Site/SMG environment....you start to effect all sites now with the sysload.
