Hi,

I have undertaken a project to write a small EPOS system for the company i work for using MS Access... They have a barcode scanner (which is working fine from COM1), and a Epson TM-T88iii thermal receipt printer attached on COM2 then a cash drawer attached to that...

Trouble is, i have been trawling the internet for solutions as to getting the receipt to print and cash drawer to open through VB... i have tried installing the printer drivers for the TM-T88iii and even printing a test page won't work... I know i'm going wrong somewhere, and I'm pretty sure that I could probably hard code the print and cash drawer opening with a function, but, I can't seem to find anything to tell me how!!!

Any suggestions will be very gratefully received!

Thanks

Steve :)

Hi Thanks,

I am a little confused? I am now using the generic/text driver and am getting all the data i need printing out on the receipt, however, I cannot get the cutter to work, or the drawer to kick? I am using windows XP

I have tried with the hexadecimal that has been suggested
but i am a little stuck as it is not working?? Could someone possible guide me through a little?

Thanks

Steve

We had this same problem when first developing FreePOS Restaurant software. If you go to you can find the escape codes to open the cash drawer on just about every printer. You'll also find documentation for most of the ESC/POS protocol.
Hope this helps!
