Nortel Gear-

Hi- Everything is routable from location A to location B. When placing a network call from location A to location B

B can hear location A
B can not talk to location A, voice not transmitted, although there was call set up.

B can call location A,
B can hear location A, but can not talk to location A.

One way talk path, anything would be helpful-
Thanks in Advance,
Jadexing

Verify you can ping from both locations to the other.

Check all of your default gateways to make sure they are correct.

What is the specific Nortel gear that is involved, and what version of software are you running? What type of telephones are you using?

Any additional detail will help users here give you an educated answer.

This is normally a problem with your default gateway. I have had this problem before and it is site A knows how to get to site B so the calls will ring because the call setup is done via the CS1000 and the speech is only established after call setup. I would check the default gateway on the IP handsets and the DSP boards.

Thanks guys! very appreciated- will go back with this stuff. Am a network person working with a phone guy! I will also update if I get good info.

Had this fault a number of times on CISCO 3550s, we eventually found it was due to a port security setting on the CISCO.
