I have 2 time variables eg 20:20 and 08:30 how do I find out how many mins in between cheers
 
In your case:

ROUND((DEFORMAT('20:20',@T1) - (DEFORMAT('08:30',@T1) + 8640001))/(-6000),.01)
-> 730 min
