One of our clients' IP Office did not adjust for daylight savings. We have the time server correctly entered (The Navy/military one; 192.5.41.42 (or .41) but the time display on the phones will not change.

I've tried several things...

1) Restarting the system after the change
2) Deleting the IP address for the time server, saving config, re-open it, re-enter address, save it and still nothing.

It seems like the request isn't getting out of the network.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Do you have a VMPRO system? Might want to point that IPO to the voicemail server, and make sure the voicemail server as the right time. Alot of time servers block time requests that aren't from certain places (like universities) now.

The IPO uses an older time protocol for its time so it may not get it from the one you have on the internet. you can point to a computer with manager or VM pro on it or you could use a button to set the time

I had this same problem on Monday.

Here is what I did.

Set the time server address to: 129.6.15.28

This is a public timer server.

Setup a new IP route for this specific address to go out to the internet. The IPO doesn't know where to go look for this IP unless you have an IP route setup.

Set the time offset to whatever will work for your time zone. As this is server address is on universal time in England (UK).

Example: for US Eastern Standard time set to -5 hours, for Central time set for -6 hours, etc.

Load the config and then reboot. You will have to reboot, it won't let you merge this info.

The system will come up with the correct time.

Hope this helps.

or just open manager on your own server and port forward public ip udp37 to this machine.

IPO uses RFC868 which doesn't cater for DST.

Use VM Pro/Manager PC or just put a button on a 5x10/20 phone!!!

You could also use this tool to run on a server.

I didn't think you could put a button on the 5410 / 5420 tel sets to adjust the system time.

self-administer button with action data 2 and the user made a system phone in the telephony tab. that gives you three options,
Release
Date
Time

you can read out the release the system is change date and time manually

depends on s/e level. I think this is for 4.1 and later.

on 4.0 you can use *9000* HOLD to change the time.

If you are before that, then i don't think so.
