Are we the first to experience the IPO to set it's time wrong??

Currently i have a customer which IP403 has run perfect for a long time. Suddenly it misses the time with 2 hours... The "Time server" is set to a Server with a controlled clock, which runs perfect!

We currently have 2 systems with unreliable time.

Try to leave the manager application open all the time (no need to download the config) and also leave the voicemail pro client open... it really helps I had that problem on 3 or 4 systems and it fixed my problem in all cases.

If you dont have vmpro leave at least the manager open but I'm not sure if it will do the trick... I did not had a chance to try to figure out wich one fix the problem

Manager & both Voicmail applications will operate as a time server. Voicemail is the prefered option as it should be running at all times.
If VM Starts when Manager is operation it will not operate as a time server which can cause problems

also check the regional settings are correct, I had one UK based VM PC that though it was in honalulu so wa 1 week out with its daylight savings

How the System Receives Time
Whenever the Control Unit reboots, it requests the time using the standard Internet Time protocol (RFC868).

Time servers may give the time in local format or in UTC (Universal Time Coordinates) format. If the Control Unit receives the time in local time format it uses that time. Otherwise if it receives the time in UTC format, it uses that time plus the Time Offset configured through Manager in the System Form.

The Voicemail Server, Voicemail Pro Server or Manager programs can all act as Time servers, giving the time as set on their host PC's. They all give the time in both local time format and UTC format.

Following a reboot the Control Unit repeats its request every hour. It first makes the request using the Voicemail Server IP address in its configuration and if it receives no reply it then does a broadcast request.

If you are running Manager when the Voicemail Server starts, then Voicemail does not start as a time server. It is therefore highly recommended that you have no copy of Manager running when you start or restart the Voicemail Server.

You can check the time held by the Control Unit on any phone with a suitable display. Alternatively you can run the Monitor application and enable the option System | System Resource Status Prints to see the Control Unit's time.

Common problems are slow clock on the Voice mail server causing the IP Office time to be wrong. Another time server on the network sending the time UTC format so you have to set the time offset.

Also try specifying the time server IP on the manager to be the VM server.

Something I've found helpful as a work around, is to set one display phone as a system phone in the user/telephony tab, and then on that phone you can scroll to a setup option. Select this and you are then presented with one for the time.

I have done this on one site, that I had this problem of the wrong time, and it has kept the accurate time to date.

Just a work around in the short term

Thanks
