Hi Guys,

We have had in issue on our domain controller for a while now, the situation is that the clock on the DC was out and therefore all the machines on the domain were out - slow by about 5 minutes.

this was not a HUGE issue until we started getting emails reporting bugs in the past rather than as they happen which makes tracking a real pain.

The server would not allow me to manually update the time (well it would but it would just change back to the incorrect time) and there was no internet time/time server tab in the time options control panel.

After looking into what options are available to me to allow me to keep the time correct i ended up installing dimension 4 version 5.0.35.0

this works well for updating the time on the domain controller but oddly, the time of other machines on the domain DO NOT UPDATE!!! i have spent quite a while searching for answers and now im asking for help...

Cheers,

Ludi

well they should eventually update, but you could create a login script or a startup script like the following:

Code:
net time /set \\<domain controller> /y

just save it as a batch file and let it run when a user logs in or when the machine boots up which ever you think will deploy faster for your enviorment.

thanks for that, actually a colleague of mine came up with the same idea but its nice to know we are on the right track.

FYI - it has been weeks since the time was updated on the DC and oddly it hadnt propogated itself.
