The time is an hour off (DLST). I can probably just reboot the switch tonight to fix it, but there must be a better way. I have searched and found quite a bit on setting the time on later versions (we cannot upgrade past 2.1 due to our operator console)

So, I set my phone (4424D+) as a system phone and have browsed through the admin menu to TmDay to enter the time. I'm not sure what to do here. I entered variations of the time, but I can never make it "stick." I only have a clear option. This is probably simple, but I cannot find any info on how to finish.

Thanks for your help!
Mike

IP Office 2.1 gets the time from the network if possible, using the RCF868 TIME protocol.
By default the ip address of the timeserver is set to 0.0.0.0 representing a broadcast on the network.
Any PC with a RFC868 timeserver service ( Linux! ) can deliver the time to the IP Office.
Changing the time from a extension will only be valid for max one minute and then the timeserver will set the time back to the previuos value.
You can disable the network time updates by entering 0.0.0.1 as the time server and then change the time from a extension setup as a system phone.

Thanks for the reply. I know there are a few of these time issues going on right now.

I currently have it set to the ip address of the VmailPro server, but short of a reboot it will not adjust the time. I tried to set the time from the system phone, but I could not get it to work... When I go the the system phone, I have a key programmed to display the Admin menu, then choose TmDay and get the Time of Day prompt. I entered the time in various formats and all I can do is clear it. I cannot get it to take any change.

I rebooted the switch and the time is now correct, but how can I do this from the system phone in the futures? Does the auto time server update have to be turned off using the 0.0.0.1 before the system phone can change it??

Thanks!
Mike

The docs do a good job of explaining how IPO can get its time. It does not however, at least not that I can find, when and how often it requests time when running. Clearly it does it on reboot, but then when does it do it in a normal running basis?

It checks every hour after reboot
this information appears to have been removed from the latest help files

I've just been testing this on 4.2 software. The IPO does send a time-request every 5 minutes.
So setting the timeserver IPAdress to your dial-in IPAdres and wait for 5 minutes with manager open and 'enable-timeserver' ticked in the preferences tab could help you out from remote.
It's a pitty that the time displayed on the lower bar in SystemStatus doesn't always reflect the the time on the IPOffice.

So they change the time requests :)
It used to be an hour like intrigrant said

Don't forget to check the time offset field...

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.
