ttad: may read 10:53
some sets read the correct time

but
TN 24 0 1 2 is at 10:55
TN 56 0 3 5 is at 11:07
TN 40 0 4 6 is at 10:56

2616's and 3900 sets

firmware uprgaded on 3900 sets

weird!!!

The official response we got was that you are not paying for a clock, you are paying for a telephone system. We didn't have phones off the time as bad as yours were, but we did have them 2 or 3 minuts off of each other.

the sets will sync to your clock, even on a large system, it should only take an hour, max.. if your using procomm i have a script that does a sync back to your network server.. you are paying for a phone, and SERVICE...

I'm with HAWKS. Replace the official. When you pay as much as you do for the switch, the clock should be right on the money. The clock is part of the package. They build great switches, but haven't built one that could keep decent time since the SL-1 came out.

OK...I've put my two cents in for today.

btw load 2 has a clock adjustment, seconds ahead minutes ahead or back...

I will have the official fired!!! Even when you reset the times they drift off to much to fast. I am looking into xpec firmware could be the issue.

Thanks

Your service provider should be using a strata clock. You need to synch up to them. I wouldnt suggest having the official fired; perhaps the front end sales person doesnt know also its a small world out there. The other day I had one tell me their dms couldnt route as per TOD!! What they didnt know was that switch used to be my baby! AJK

The scary part is that clocks are drifting between network groups!! I have never seen that.

John Poole was right that there is a way to adjust drift if the entire system is continually off from real time but what you are describing is your network groups are out of sync.

I wonder if you unplug the three phones and plug them back in (this will force them to update time with the system)if they will be in sync? and how long they stay in sync. This is not an answer to your problem but step in discovering if the phone is drifting or if the actual network groups are broadcasting different times out.

The digital sets actually keep their own time and just sync from the PBX I have never been told how often I would guess 3 or 4 times an hour. This is why the phone time does not change right away when you go in LD 2 and change the time in your M-1. I have seen it take up to 15 minutes before a phone displays a time change but, if you unplug the phone and plug it back in it does happen right away.

between groups?? i would go direct to nortel, that's almost beyond the possible. sorta a warp in the space time line. black holes could be destroyed... your clock is the heartbeat of the switch, doesn't need to have a correct display, but switching on the backplane depends on master clock being in sync.. i would install a set from each group on my desk and call nortel... let us know what you find

Yes the times are drifting between network groups which I have never seen! If you reset the set it sets back to the switch but slowly increases ahead of the PBX and each set may have a different time (strange). Nortel is working on a patch for us.

I will post the MPRL when I receive it for future.

Thanks

did anyone find a patch number for this?/

problem fixed, nortel tech support says, turn on lamp audit in load 77 and clocks will resync and stay that way...

Also experiencing this issue....
John,

Never working with LD 77 before, "DLMP 0" looks like it turns the lamp audit on. Are there any other considerations or busy periods to avoid when issuing the "lamp audit on" command in LD 77?
Thanks,
Pudge99

not that i have seen, i don't play in 77 that much either, but within minutes or that command, my problem was fixed. and has not came back

No luck with the LD 77 lamp audit. Thanks just the same! Downloading the controllers in each module, finally straightened out the time and date on the displays.

that lamp audit works but not until after the next update, nortel says wait a couple of days, downloading the controllers bypasses the wait. the lamp audit is what sync's the 2000 series sets

The drifting time has resurfaced on the 2000 series sets and a drifting date on a select group of 3903's. What a Monday!! Will try the lamp audit again and be a little more patient this time and let you know. Thanks for the followup John.

the lamp audit should stay on at all times, once it's on

FYI we tried all the above Nortel found out our lamp audit was stuck somewhere in the system ( after an upgrade to 3.0). Reloades and everything else did not help the issue after a week nortel design found it and freed it.
you could reset a phone which would sync but it would drift after a few hours.

This doesn't help much but call nortel if you run into this issue.
