I need to set up an extension where after 5:30pm the users can't dial outside. As far as I understand it, I need to assign the extension to a COR that is assigned to a Time of Day routing plan which restricts that. Is that correct? I'm totally new to Avaya and I've just kinda been handed it with a minimum of training on the system so if anybody could take the time to help me out I would greatly appreciate that. An example would be really great.

Thank you,

Tom

I’m pretty green too but i am going to try and help.
What you are saying should work, there is a home health building in my system that is set up this way so all calls between the hours of 4pm and 7am all go to an answering service.
You just need to set up the cover time-of-day and your other cover paths and it should do what you want.

Hmm.. yep. It sounds like it should work. I have the extension set up with the COR I want that is tied to the ToD routing table. I'm just uncertain about how to proceed from this point. I understand that I need to use different PGN in the routing table when I need a change made at the different times. Is that correct?

How do I proceed from this point on.

Thank you.

Tom

Time of day coverage is differant than time day routing. The time of day coverage would redirect "incomming calls" .

The time of day routing will let you restrict them from making outside calls by the COR. The COR you create will not be allowed to the COR of your trunk groups. Be careful to not fully restrict these phones at night for security and safety reasons.

Hell, there are no rules here - we're trying to accomplish something.

Actually, the only thing we want restricted are calls made to the outside after 5pm. We still want to let them be able to make calls in house and also 911 of course.

So could you give me any pointers on how to properly set up the time of day routing table. Am I correct in assuming that I need to assign PGN's that will route the calls according to the TOD routing table? I'm sorry if I am asking very basic questions but as of right now I am still trying to get a good grip on Definity.

Thank you,

Tom

Ah..Thanks for that one. Actually had release 2.1 of that document so it didn't hurt getting a fresh 3.0 release. Anyhoo, got it licked. The partition routing table had me confused for a little while but once I figured it out it was pretty much straight forward. Will be happy to supply an example if anybody wants it.

Anyways, thanks for the input all.
