I have an IP Office 500 V2 version 5.0(15). The time is correct on the voicemail server which is where the IP Office grabs the time of day to display on the phones. The phones are all off by about 7 or 8 minutes. I've rebooted the voicemail and IP Office several times, hard and soft reboots, and the time is still offset. I did notice that the time on the system status reflects the time on the phones which seems odd. I know that the system status time cannot be trusted as its a known issue for it to be wrong. Why are these phones showing the same time of day as the system status??
Thanks in advance for any help!!

Chris

How did you trick the 500v2 to suck in the R5.0 software? That's not possible or supported!

Anyway, your IPO has a time offset, check your Time source.
If none is programmed, it may pull the time from your manager on reboot and the time will wander off bit by bit, until it's noticeable.

IPO can use Voicemail Pro as Time source, that's pretty reliable and then you know the two are in-sync.

Charming handle, btw.
How on earth did that pass the censorship [ponder]

Kind regards

Gunnar

Which model of handset?

IIRC 54XX handsets get the time when they boot but then maintain their own clock so can start to slip
resetting the handsets usually resolves the problem

Oh my bad Gunnaro, the system is a V1 not a V2. That would change the scheme of things inside the Manager wouldn't ay? The only options available for dealing with T-of-D settings are the Time Server address field and the Time Offset which I believe can be set in 15 minute increments only. This issue is serious odd in my experience. Typically if the time is correct on the voicemail server and not correct on the phones a reboot to the IPO would fix it.

The plug has been pulled on the main unit (hard reboot), which is the only unit with all 4 slots filled up, so that would have been an effective unplugging of the 5410 phone sets right IPGuru? I just had the customer unplug a 5410 phone with the wrong time for kicks, and it didn't fix the problem.

Thanks Gunnar, maybe cause it's one word it passed the censors lol!

The IPO should be receiving its time from the VM server if not I would now suspect firewall or antivirus software on the IPO blocking the time server port.
this is rfc 868 time protocol which uses udp port 37
