I have just set up an IP Office. The date is stuck on the 27th of October and the time is plus one hour.

I have tried changing the time settings to none, SNTP and voicemail pro and changed the IP address of the timeserver and the dst is stuck on 31 march 2013 - october 2013, whenever I try and edit it it goes back to 2013.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

When you use SNTP then you need an NTP server in the network or when on the internet an IP route to that time server.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

I have followed this to the t
The only thing I can think of that I have done differently this time to most other installations is used the user rights to configure the buttons. The only other thing I can think of is deleting the default IP route so there is two.

I have also rebooted the system.

Before you start tearing down the walls, this is a quick fix:

If you have a PC in the network, install VMPro (PS: You don't need a license for running VMPro as a time source).
Then you set Voicemail Pro as Time Source on the System page.

Kind regards

Gunnar

Why install VMPro if you can use manager as time source, too?

Because VMPro is way more reliable, like service starting up automatically after a reboot.
The Manager-way may require IPO reboot to pull the time, and you can't set an alarm to monitor if the source is unavailable.

I don't like surprise calls the day after DST, much better to know in advance if the time is being pulled or not. (That of course requires a setup for monitoring your customers, but who doesn't?)

Kind regards

Gunnar

Before SNTP had been implemented I wrote a little batch script that installed a small time server as service on a customer machine. It used the same protocol like VMPro/Manager does.

SNTP made my life much easier. Most times I don't ask the customer for a NTP server and just use his DNS. It's most times the domain controller, too and has an I build NTP service.

All roads lead to Rome :)

Well, as a bare minimum:

You should visit the Sistine chapel and walk inside the dome of St. Pietro.
St. Clemente is worth a trip too (but be aware of strange opening hours), and of course you need to see the Pantheon.
Unfortunately Fontana de Trevi is closed for renovation and the Piazza di Spagna is not much in January.

But, All roads lead to Rome (Mille viae ducunt homines per saecula Romam) is a metaphor, meaning more than one method will produce the same result.

The expression in itself was once true, as all roads in the Roman Empire radiated out from one single spot inside the Foro Romano, the Milliarium Aureum.
Rumors has it that till this day, Italians measure the distance from the very same spot.

Kind regards

Gunnar

I will save these informations if I will make trip to Rome... I know that it is just a metaphor for sure ;-)

Thanks for this guys.

We ended up configuring a button for self administer and then changed the time this way. This worked well.

Try this!

Set user rights to level 2 on any extension
Program a "Self-Administrator" button on same extension with action data of 2
Program a "Time of day" button on the same extension.
They must be in this order on the extension for some unknown reason

Unplug the extension for a few seconds, upon plugging back in you'll be able to set the "System time and Date"

It's best if it's placed on a responsible persons extension.
