I have two option 61Cs tied together with a PRI. I have been seeing issues with the circuit bouncing and there appears to be slips occurring as well. Hardware has been replaced on both ends and the two buildings are linked via fiber so there doesn't appear to be a cabling issue. I am suspecting a clocking issue, and I noticed that both PREF and SREF clocking are set on the loops for the local telco circuits at each respective site. I am curious if either PREF or SREF should be set up on the tie loops at each site but could find no documentation on that. Has anyone run into this before?

Setting PREF and SREF at each site to clock off the local Telco should be fine and a better clock source than clocking off of the Tie. You have another issue. More than likely an issue with the card in the fiber or router supplying the T-1 circuits for your Tie.

Thanks KCFLHRC! I have spoken with some of our engineers on the issue and they came to the same conclusion.
