TIE Trunk on 8700 says in-service/active? but has no connected ports on any of the active channels...it should say in-service/idle correct? Now the other end of TIE F/E connected to G3si goes out-of-service after a minute or so. so I cant dial accross the TIE using a TAC.Code from the G3si or from the 8700

Any help? Im thinking I might have a bad CSU on the side of the 8700 but thats all I know at this point.
I have Disconnect Supervision - In? Y on both TIEs
All settings on the TIEs are exactly the same
Any help appreciated

Get the manual and learn to read the tests, the results and be able to respond. It's the greatest thing you can do for yourself as far as a career in troubleshooting goes.

Post your DS-1 form and let me know what you've got.

Before you go to far you have to make sure that the physical links are good. You should be able to do 'test board [slot]' on both ends and pass all tests up to and including test 1227. Below test 1227 you are testing the individual trunks/channels. That is where the trunk group administration comes in. Beginning on page 1313 of the attached link is the screen reference for adding trunks. Try experimenting with the 'Mode' and 'Type' entries. Remove all but one trunk on each end to make your changes and testing go quicker.

Kevin

On the 8700 side, in the ds1, you are set for common channel signaling (CCS); on the other side you are set for robbed bit. both must be robbed bit for E&M tie, if you want this to work. CCS is another ball of wax that you probably don't want to mess with!
