We have a remote location with an Opt11 connected to our CS1000 and Call Pilot system through a point to point T1 plus 12 lines into a channel bank. There are about 20 users but only about 7 are ever on the phone and rarely at the same time and they do not use the desktop messaging features. I am wondering if we can run everything over the point to point.

Depending on your traffic, but with the stats you provided, you should be able to take everything over the P2P. We have 50+ users at multiple field locations doing it with no issue.

Just monitor your traffic load closely after the conversion, and you may want to keep the channel bank in standby for a week until you are satisfied.

Are you using the P2P as a tie line or is carrying SIP trunks as well as data traffic? What compression are you using?

Thanks for the replies,

The T and a half is way over trunked. going to order a new P2P and call it good and save some $$.
