Tie line from 200 ICP

Connecting a 200 ICP to a conference bridge via PRI tie line. Basic connectivity works great, but the bridge has the ability to make outbound calls and that is not working. The problem is that the Mitel appears to only accept 10 digits of DNIS, this prevents 11 digit dialing of outbound calls from the bridge and all external calls require 11 digits. Dialing internal extensions from the bridge works fine, but dialing external numbers does not (no way to test 7 or 10 digit numbers as all calls require 11 in this area).

Is there a way to get around the 10 digit DNIS limitation? Perhaps a setting hidden somewhere? We are about to try T1 tie line instead of PRI (NI2/B8ZS). The integration works fine with a 3300 (via PRI/NI2/B8ZS) and appears to work differently with the 200.

Thanks,

Steve

How are you dialing out? Are you dialing 9 (ARS access out) then the number, or is there a DISA - then the number?

Perhaps... in FORM 26 look for the LEAD DIGIT NUMBER being dialed (ex: if you need to dial 9 for a trunk out), open the SHOW STRINGS, then add N with 9 "X"'s behind it.
[This means that the lead digit is 9 - N (any number)- and xxxxxxxxx (9 numbers to follow) for access out]

Without knowing exactly what you need or how your system is set up, this may give you what you need for the system to accept the 11 digits.

Your description of your issue and the task you're trying to perform do not compute.

You describe an issue with DNIS (inbound call) when trying to make an outbound call.

On the surface, I would advise you not to present the call to the SX200 as an inbound call and instead present as an outbound with all associated digits.

Trite answer, but based on the facts you provided

Folks,

The issue is a limit to DNIS digits the mitel can receive, as confirmed by their support group. When connecting via a PRI to a device that can make outbound calls, it appears to be an inbound call to the Mitel (just like an inbound call would look coming in from the carrier on a PRI).

If you know of a way to 'present' the call as an outbound call, do tell.

Mitel has a hard coded limit on the number of DNIS digits they can receive on a PRI, 10(on the 200 icp). They can only accomodate great than 10 DNIS digits via QSIG which is not supported by the connected device. This type of connection is the equivalent to tieing two Mitel systems together via tie line, where you would hop-off the second system to make an outbound call (a system in NY and one in CA, if you're in NY and want to dial a number in CA, you go across the private tie line and 'hop-off' the system in CA so it's a local outbound call). They can't tie two mitels together via PRI for the same reason this integration wouldn't work. They use QSIG to get around the problem when connecting PBX to PBX.

We changed from PRI to T1 and the problem went away. But we've lost the callerID coming into the Sonexis...so we'd much rather be able to use PRI for the connection.

Thanks for the responses.
