Thunderbird junk filter not working

This is not a programme I'm familiar with...

It's v2.0.0.6 and appears to send and receive mail ok. However, I cannot seem to get the junk (spam) filter to work at all. Mozilla's knowledge base says to click "Adaptive Filter" tab, and then further down refers to "Settings" tab and "White Lists". Can't find any of these at all on mine...

Any clues please?
