Thumbnails

I have a bunch of thumbnails on my site that, when clicked, open the image actual size via a hyperlink directly to the image filename. The image opens in the main frame with a white background... but the background on my site is black. Is there any way to make them open with a black background without creating seperate html files for EACH picture?
