We create images where I am. We'll take an image and make , say, 4 different versions of an image with different colors, composites, etc...

The problem we have is that on XP and you ahve the folder set to thumbnail view, only the original image is show as the thumbnail for all images.

More observations and testing:

OK, here is the issue;

Images taken from digital cameras with EXIF information that have been manipulated in Photoshop (6 and CS, Mac or Windows), show the original untouched image in the thumbnail view on Windows XP (Pro and Home)

Manipulating the images in MSPaint or MS Office Picture Manager will show the correct thumbnail image.
We don't have another image manipulating program for the Mac to test.

Thanks bcastner for the valuable information.

Obviously a bug with XP, at least on all of our systems here.

We've deleted the thumbs.db from the entire system(s) and the thumbnail still show as incorrect.

We found that if you "refresh thumbnail", you'll get the corect image.

If you "refresh the page" (or F5), the images will toggle between the correct and incorrect.

I guess until Microsoft issues a patch, our workflow will be:
-dump images in a directory
-highlight all images and refresh thumbnails

Thanks all

rrsub,

Thanks for your poking around to resolve (?) the issue.
I think your Workaround for the problem is quite nicely done.
