There are a number of PC's (all with static IP's) for which we want to monitor the amount of traffic (in MB/GB) that has gone across the PIX. Does anybody know a method for doing this ?

I don't think the PIX can do traffic analysis..

The newest version of PIX code can finally do things like monitor CPU usage via SNMP and there are some new interface monitoring calls that you can use. Just remember that all SNMP is read-only on the PIX. A different approach is to use the PDM, Version 3 has a nice traffic chart by default on the main screen. Also you have a CPU chart, Memory Usage chart, and Connections per second chart.

You can get the overall traffic through a Pix interface, but I don't think you can get it for a subset of computers. That would require something like NetFlow.

I am looking at a number of network monitoring solutions and must thank everybody who responded for their help.

Thank you.
